4 December – The Dorchester Christmas Cracker – Dorchester Town Centre – 3pm – 9pm – Bring the whole family along to enjoy the street fair and Christmas light switch on at 6:30pm – Free to attend

12 December - A Medieval Christmas - Dorchester Arts Centre – 8pm – Tickets: £12.00 / Concessions: £10.00 - This celebration of Yuletide Past explores the origins of some of these practices featuring long-forgotten festive songs plus some surprisingly familiar carols, played on authentic instruments such as cittern, bagpipes and shawm. They will also present two of Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales in all their finery – one of them complete with animal masks and costumes.

17 – 18 December – Swan Lake – Corn Exchange, Dorchester - Join Ballet Theatre UK with their spectacular new production of the timeless classic Swan Lake, which remains one of the most enduring, moving and irreplaceable classical ballets – Tickets: £15.00 / Concessions: £11.00 - Box Office on 01305 266 926
